Whatever you have hanging on the wall
in your room, a horse, photographs
of the masters, a sketch of St. Petersburg,
they will all become your self-portrait.
Whatever trees you see, whatever
people you meet as you walk
down the street, you are one of them –

About the translators
Austin Woerner is a Creative Fellow in Chinese-English literary translation at the University of Leeds.
Wang Dandan is an MA student currently enrolled in the English Literature course at the School of English, University of Leeds.
