Ruth Matanda
I am a graduate of the University of Leeds with a degree in Chinese and Linguistics. During my final year at the university I became interested in Chinese literature reading books from both China and Taiwan relating to sexuality and gender, romance, science fiction, thriller and young adult fiction. My love for Chinese literature only grew more after taking the module ‘Contemporary Chinese Literature’ which led me to not only focus on the stories being told but pushed me to also start thinking more about the social context(s) which inspired writers to tell such stories!
