Yan Ge 颜歌

Yan Ge was born in Sichuan, China, and lives in Dublin. She is the author of 11 books and was chosen as Best New Writer by the Chinese Literature Media Prize. People’s Literature magazine recently chose her as one of China’s 20 future literary masters. Her novel《我们家》(2013) was translated as The Chilli Bean Paste Clan by Nicky Harman and published in 2018 by Balestier Press. 

She has been featured twice as our Author of the Month, in November 2014 and May 2018, and has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Writing Chinese project from the very beginning, attending a number of events as an invited speaker, and running a translation masterclass alongside her translator, Nicky Harman.
