Jing Huanjun

Position
Doctoral Researcher

I am in the first year of my PhD study under the supervision of Frances Weightman and Caroline Fielder at the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies, University of Leeds.  I gained my Bachelor of Arts (BA) with the paper “Rhythmic Beauties in the Poetic Novel Between the Acts” at Chongqing Jiaotong University (CQJTU) in 2015 and completed my Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) with the paper “A Translation Report on the Works Contract for the Procurement of Construction of Okavango River Bridge in the Republic of Botswana” at Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) in 2017.

My current research project is about translation politics and policies in China from 2008 to 2018. I am trying to study policy-related factors behind the translation activities in the fields of foreign-Chinese translation and Sino-foreign translation in China in the mentioned period.
