We’re looking forward to welcoming guest speakers, including authors Yan Ge and Lijia Zhang, for this event focusing on fiction and gender in China. The event will feature talks, readings, and roundtable discussion.
Yan Ge is an Author Ambassador for the Leeds Centre for New Chinese Writing. Her novel《我们家》(2013), was translated as The Chilli Bean Paste Clan by Nicky Harman and published in 2018 by Balestier Press, and her work appears in Being Various: New Irish Short Stories. She is currently one of the judges for the International Dublin Literary Award.
Lijia Zhang is a writer, journalist, and public speaker. Her book Socialism is Great! A Worker’s Memoir of the New China is published by Atlas & Co. and Penguin Random House, and her debut novel Lotus was published in 2017.
