Calling all UK pupils!!
While the schools are closed, have a read of some of the best Chinese short stories, translated into English by our partners in the Paper Republic team (a collective of the world’s best translators of Chinese literature into English). We have selected some in our Schools Story Hub which we think you might enjoy.
Choose your favourite (or your least favourite if you prefer!) and write a review — what was it about, what did you like/dislike about it, what did you think about the plot/characterisation, did the translation read well to you, would you recommend it to others etc. etc.
Alternatively, you can choose any other work of translated Chinese literature that you have read and would like to review.
The Books Trust have provided a really useful overview of what to include in a book review here. You can follow this format if you like, or invent your own. Your review can be anything between 400 and 750 words long.
Your teacher will submit your reviews to us as an email attachment, to be published on our site, to help guide others.
If you do this before 30th June this year, the best reviews, as selected by our team, headed by Dr Theresa Munford, our Teaching Ambassador, will receive a prize, kindly donated by our sponsors, Cypress Books!
